Type: Tapered adapter sleeves in steel to make it easier to mount bearings with a tapered bore on cylindrical shafts of constant section.
Operation: The tapered sleeve is driven into the tapered bore of the bearing until the desired radial clearance is reached. Axial movement of the sleeve reduces the internal clearance of the bearing.
Taper: The outer surface has a standard 1:12 taper (except the AH240/AH241 series with a 1:30 taper), allowing precise mounting.
Sizes: Available in various sizes to match bearings of different series (2300, 2315, 2316, 3220, etc.) and shafts of various diameters.
Mounting: The sleeve is secured on the shaft by a KM or HM locknut (not supplied) or by an end plate with locking nut.
Benefit: Makes mounting on cylindrical shafts easier without the need for a tapered seat on the shaft, and allows precise adjustment of the bearing clearance.
Demountability: Bearings mounted with an AHX sleeve remain separable for maintenance and inspection. The sleeve is reusable.
Specifications: Hardened steel, 1:12 taper, mounting with locknut or end plate, adjustable tapered bearings, temperatures -30°C to +80°C.
Applications: Automotive transmissions, rolling mills, industrial transmissions, machines where tapered bearings must be mounted on cylindrical shafts.
